Type: Twin-engined STOL aircraft re-engine programme

Programme:: The programme for re-engining DO 28 D-2 type aircrafts with Walter M 601 D-2 turboprop engines was developed together with the Hungarian company G92 Kereskedelmi Kft. AEROTECH SLOVAKIA LTD. re-engined the first aircraft (c/n 4121 1995 - 96). Tests for this prototype started in 1996. After successful conclusion of these tests in 1997, the Hungarian Flight Inspection granted Category Normal certification according to FAR Pt 23 standards (March 27,1997). The next aircraft (c/n No. 4125) was re-engined in Oktober 1998.

Engines: Two original Lycoming IGSO-540-AIE flat-six engines were replaced with Walter M 601 D-2 turboprop engines from a Czech manufacturer. The M 601 D-2 has a maximum power of 580 kW but both engines have been flatrated to 336 kW. This allows for optimum hot & high performance and guarantees short //Umlaufzeiten. Each engine drives ab extremely silent (70,2 dB measured accordint to ANNEX X) AVIA-HAMILTON V508 D-2 three-blade constant speed propeller with reversible pitch.
